Ruby’s – Bar & Grill

Ruby’s – Bar & Grill is a casual, comfortable, family restaurant by RTC india in New Delhi. The concept is that of an American Diner with
an extended multi-cuisine menu to suit the Indian market.

When I was assigned this project, straight off I wanted to do an “Old-School” American Diner look. Back in the old days the logos were hand drawn and rendered. They had a charm and individuality of their own. We don’t get to see a lot of those now  - and I wanted to bring that back. The colours were pre-defined so the logo had to work in black and white and the rest would follow. I used arcs and free flow fonts to give it casual look and then rendered it with shadows and multiple outlines to add that vintage feel. The use of “Bar & Grill” within the logo added that final “diner” touch.

The logo has been made in a way that it can be used in combination of colours within the colour guideline. Which is very useful for promotional material as the logo doesn’t get lost in the collateral. Its works well in single colours and on background colours as well.
