New year calls for a New you. Health and Fitness goals, new painted walls. Take the bike for a spin or chuck old things in the bin! See a pattern here? No, poetry is not on our list of goals but growing our business is. And we are here to start this year off by helping you get your business goals no track with these New Year Resolutions for your Business!
Learn to manage your cash Flow
Understanding your day to day expenses and keeping track of them is the best way to grow with any business. Keeping a regular record of your incomes and the expenses can save you a lot of trouble when it comes to referring back to a transaction or filing in for taxes!
We like to manage our invoices and bills online as that makes it accessible to us from anywhere, anytime! And most of these softwares have online apps for you to keep track of or send reminders to your clients on the go. What more, you can add your bank details to take payments directly from the invoice so you don’t have to record them manually.
Grow your Online Presence.
If you haven’t yet created a website for your business, you definitely need to come out from under that rock! Online presence is the key to 50% of your business marketing, visibility and eventually sales! Take the time to think about the services you can offer, the products you have and how you can enhance the customer’s experience with them. Then build a website that depicts those thoughts for you. Make it mobile friendly and think about adding an e-mail platform to generate online sales and making your products or services more accessible to the end consumer.
Socialise
No one’s going to know you or your business exists until you reach out to them. So create those social media profiles and get the word out there. Consider attending some network groups around your area to meet new people and businesses and educate them about your services and how it can help theirs. Lastly give out your business cards like confetti !!
Be more Productive:
As old school as it sounds, creating lists and having a calendar can visually keep you on track of your goals. Write down the things you want to achieve for your business and the steps you need to take to get there. Keep track of your project deadlines, meetings, social media marketing plan or bills to be paid to have a clear picture of your month ahead.
Declutter
Over the course of the year, we collect paperwork, subscriptions, register online and download apps that we may or may not use. Start your new year with a fresh slate. Shred the paperwork you no longer need and file what you do. Unsubscribe from junk mail and lists that no longer serve you any purpose. Delate apps that you haven’t used for over 6 months and clear up your work space to make it more inspirational and inviting!
Update
Keeping up to date with the trends in our business is great tool to keep your demand high. Research and see what your competitors are doing and what’s out there. Which one of those trends can you adapt to provide a better experience for your customer.
This could mean adding a new product in your inventory, learning a new software or modernising some of those traditional food dishes – whatever the nature of the business, if it’s not fresh, it’ll soon loose it’s charm.
Grow your Database.
Create a database that houses your existing clients, your prospective clients and those visiting your business whether online or in store. Use this database to send monthly or quarterly news and updates about your business. It’s a great way to keep your audience engaged and informed. Your visibility is the key to your sales, the moment it drops, so will your sales!
